Week Four

Hi Everyone :)

Last week in Room Three we did some creative writing about what we would do if we were stranded on a deserted island. First we had to choose ten items that we would have in our suitcase, although Miss Ayrton had some pretty strict rules about what we were not allowed to have, like cell phones and a never ending supply of Mc Donald's! Then we had to draw our island and write a story of what we saw when we were washed up on our island. Check out this one by Bryanna in our class. We think she is a pretty amazing writer!

As I hauled myself out of the vast ocean the first thing that hit me was the smell, the sweet scent of wild flowers twisting and invoking.
I could feel the crisp salt whip my mangled hair and the many tiny grains of sand slide through my toes as they curl with anticipation.
As I slowly open my battered eye lids they immediately squint as the suns rays pulse down in a fit of rage. Palm trees wave in amusement and the tranquil landscape stretches out on a vast scale. Waves roll and lap at the sand, spitting out the seaweed jewelery.
As my watery eyes focus and scan the horizon it was only then that I looked around and realized that I was all alone.

In maths we have been working on rounding and ordering decimals, we have almost all got the hang of it now :)

On Friday we had our school swimming sports. It got really cold during the middle of the day for a while but the rain managed to stay away. The winning house was WEKA! TUI came in second and KEA was third. There was a parent race which TUI won :) Here are some photos from the Matatoki School swimming sports!

Have a great week everyone, Room Three :)
